Believe it or not, but Casio started in the late 1940s by selling a ring that allowed smokers to smoke more of their cigarettes. Cigarettes weren't cheap in post-WWII Japan, which suffered economic downfall. This product proved successful and jumpstarted the company, which later became known for calculators and electronic music keyboards. I particularly like the pocket computers Casio produced.
